Alumnus + Alumnus = Alumni...{Olivia & Rob...Engaged!}

I've known Rob for a long time...I can clearly remember him being an annoying little grade nine when I was a "big kid" in highschool. He and my sister were in the same class and the two have remained friends all through highschool and university. So, I was pretty excited when Rob and his new fiancee, Olivia, contacted me about doing their wedding photos! Some photographers find it more stressful to photograph someone they know, but I actually like it. If we share common stories and memories, it definitely makes getting that relaxed atmosphere a lot faster than with a complete stranger sometimes!

Anywho, back to the story! I met up with Rob and Olivia (who is an absolute sweetheart by the way...good pick Rob!) at their old stomping grounds at the beautiful University of Guelph. I have spent a lot of time on that campus over the years, but this was the first opportunity I have had to photograph there and it is a GREAT place!!

We started in the library...a place the two claim they spent a lot of time studying....mmmm hmmmm...riiiiight...

Anyways, we found our way to an unoccupied floor and had some fun shooting amongst the millions of books at the library. After our study session, we wandered around the campus and then eventually headed downtown to the covered bridge which was also a gorgeous spot on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning! ...I must also say that these two definitely know how to rock the camera! Olivia isa beauty and you tell Rob to pose and BAM! Blue steel!

I had lots of fun with these two and I am really looking forward to their wedding next fall...in MY hometown!!

Check out some of my favourites for the day!

He Thinks My tractor's Sexy...{Whitney & Butch...Engaged!}

After a holiday weekend of glorious weather (yes, it was glorious!!), we had a couple days of not so nice weather...the weatherman couldn't totally let us forget that it was fall I guess...

Anyways, the morning of Whitney & Butch's e-session it was not looking promising! Ugh! But, we were optimistic and watched the hourly forecast faithfully...willing it to clear up. Sure enough, our sunshine dances worked and although the sun didn't come out perse, it really tried and it didn't rain, so hey! We'll take it!!

I met up with them at their farm just outside Paris where we trekked around the property and found tons of fantastic spots!! We only almost lost the bride-to-be once...those holes in the straw mow really jump out at you sometimes...eeek! We were up in the barn, down in the barn, in the barn yard, at the fence...but one of my favourite parts of our session was when Whitney busted out the antique John Deere tractor that she (yes, SHE) had recently finished restoring with her grandpa. It made for fantastic photos! A farm girl after my own heart I tell ya!

When we finished at the farm, we headed over to another of their farms nearby for some photos with the very pretty Ontario fall landscape as our backdrop...and what kind of session would it be if we didn't hit up the train tracks next door! And believe me...these are no abandoned tracks...we waited patiently for not one but two trains to pass before we ventured down for our photos!

We had a great time and Whitney and Butch are a lot of fun...you can see it in the photos! I can't wait for their wedding in the spring!!

Turkey Day + Awesome Weather = E-Pic Day!...{Holly & Paul...Engaged!}

Thanksgiving weekend was absolutely BEAUTIFUL this year!! Even though it was a holiday, I still took advantage of the lovely weather to squeeze in a couple shoots! Yay!

First up for the Turkey Day photos was Holly & Paul. With their April wedding quickly approaching, it was time to get some fall engagement photos done!

I met up with Holly and Paul and their super cute little man for a tour through Apps Mill near Paris. I have never been there before...but I will definitely be going back! What a great spot!

We trekked through the trails with all the other people out walking off their turkey dinners and lots of fun taking photos...and of course playing in the leaves!

I had a great time with Holly & Paul and am really looking forward to their wedding in the spring!!

Here's a sneak peek from our session!
