Dogs and Cats and Chickens, Oh My!...{Doug & Jess & Family}

For the third year in a row, I headed out to the Embro area to meet up with Doug and Jess and their family for our annual family photo session! First of all, I have to say...I love repeat customers! :) Thanks Jess!!


I always have a RIOT with these guys...the whole fam is hilarious...everyone...right down to the dogs, cat and even the pet chicken....yep...PET chicken! Bahaha LOVE it!


Exactly one year from the last shoot, I headed out to the farm and it was a BEAUTIFUL day! We roamed around the farm and found several good spots for the photos. Amazingly (and I say amazingly because I too have an almost-3-year-old who I feel would be far less cooperative), both kids were excited about having their pictures taken and we spent a long time before they decided they'd had enough and that the cat was more interesting! 


We had a blast and it shows in the photos for sure!! If I'm lucky, Jess and Doug will have me back again next year to do photos with them, the kids, the dogs, the cat...maybe the pet chicken and most exciting...Baby#3!!

Oh yeah and did I mention they tipped me in eggs...heck yes!!! I never say no to food!

  It wouldn't be a W family photo shoot without a cameo by Pretzel the cat!...Pretzel was a pretty big diva this time and really wasn't in the mood for pics...maybe next year!

He Thinks My tractor's Sexy...{Whitney & Butch...Engaged!}

After a holiday weekend of glorious weather (yes, it was glorious!!), we had a couple days of not so nice weather...the weatherman couldn't totally let us forget that it was fall I guess...

Anyways, the morning of Whitney & Butch's e-session it was not looking promising! Ugh! But, we were optimistic and watched the hourly forecast faithfully...willing it to clear up. Sure enough, our sunshine dances worked and although the sun didn't come out perse, it really tried and it didn't rain, so hey! We'll take it!!

I met up with them at their farm just outside Paris where we trekked around the property and found tons of fantastic spots!! We only almost lost the bride-to-be once...those holes in the straw mow really jump out at you sometimes...eeek! We were up in the barn, down in the barn, in the barn yard, at the fence...but one of my favourite parts of our session was when Whitney busted out the antique John Deere tractor that she (yes, SHE) had recently finished restoring with her grandpa. It made for fantastic photos! A farm girl after my own heart I tell ya!

When we finished at the farm, we headed over to another of their farms nearby for some photos with the very pretty Ontario fall landscape as our backdrop...and what kind of session would it be if we didn't hit up the train tracks next door! And believe me...these are no abandoned tracks...we waited patiently for not one but two trains to pass before we ventured down for our photos!

We had a great time and Whitney and Butch are a lot of fun...you can see it in the photos! I can't wait for their wedding in the spring!!

We're From The Country and We Like It That Way...{Lacey & Jeff...Engaged!}

I must first say that Lacey is probably one of the sweetest people I have ever met...SERIOUSLY!! I was so excited for our engagement session with her and her fiance Jeff and I CANNOT WAIT for their wedding next year!!

I met Lacey through another one of my lovely summer brides, Tina! (Special shout out to Tina for the kind words and great reference! :) ). After chatting for a while, it seems that Lacey, Jeff and I share a few common acquaintances other than Tina and Jesse...small world!



I met up with Lacey and Jeff at their farm north of Listowel last weekend...on Sunday...TOTALLY forgetting that I was heading into Mennonite country...I honestly counted about 50 buggies on my way there and passed countless groups of Mennonite kids and teens out walking and enjoying one of the last nice evenings of the summer! It really was a PERFECT evening for photos...it was still warm-ish, just a little breeze and the sun was in all it's near-sunset glory!


We trekked around the farm on foot and in the sweet rtv and found some great spots for the photos. We had lots of fun and I honestly can't wait for their wedding next year!!
